Consensus - Byzantine Fault Tolerant
Transaction finality happens very quickly. Planetmint is Byzantine Fault Tolerant (BFT), which means it can only tolerate up to a third of failures, including arbitrary behavior such as hacking and malicious attacks.

Planetmint has no transaction fees by default. Yet, it is possible to configure Planetmint to contain transaction fees. This is up to each use case, the purpose of the federated network, and how it is utilized.

Smart Contracts
Planetmint integrates the extendable smart contracting language, Zenroom by Dyne. Smart contracts can be formally verified.
Application and Database Layer

Planetmint proves that “two or more parties interacted with a transaction for consorted data” at a specific time. A federated network takes care of the data by utilizing sharding technology and other proven technologies that guarantee data availability and integrity.
Governance
Voting of chain migrations, set-up, and network structure is based on the BFT consensus mechanism.
Asset Attribution
Assets and their processing can be further extended with attributes, such as carbon emissions, recyclability, and more, which are then monitored and notarised accordingly.
